Originally painted off white these well drawn and finely carved chairs display the high standards of craftsmanship associated with a royal Ebeniste and in this instance Jean Avisse. The seats are caned with luxurious brocade covered drop in over seats.

His work can be seen in many private and public collections including the Louvre and the Getty museums.
