A GEORGE I BURR WALNUT KNEEHOLE DRESSING TABLE

The bow front flanked is by reeded pilasters. The top is quarter veneered with a herring bone inlaid and crossbanded border completed by an ogee cross-grained moulding. The frieze contains a leather lined brushing slide above a long drawer with a kneehole cupboard below flanked by three short drawers to either side. The table is supported on shaped bracket feet and castors. The handsome gilt brass handles are replacements. The drawers are all oak lined.

This is a pleasingly sophisticated design which indicates a London work shop.
