BRONZE SCULPTURE OF A NAKED ATHLETE, INCISED ML ROM 1903

Height: 19” (49cm)

Although we have yet to identify the artist it is intriguing that the present sculpture appears to have been inspired by Auguste Rodin’s ‘The Age of Bronze’ which he produced in 1877 soon after his visit to Italy where he studied Michelangelo.
